Precautions for lithium battery storage
Oct 21, 2022
1. If the lithium battery is not used for a long time, it should be charged with 50% - 80% of the power, taken out of the instrument and stored in a dry and cool environment. The battery should be charged every 3 months to avoid long storage time. The battery will be too low due to self discharge, which will cause irreversible capacity loss.
2. The self discharge of lithium battery is affected by ambient temperature and humidity. High temperature and humidity will accelerate the self discharge of battery. It is recommended to store the battery in a dry environment of 0 ℃ - 20 ℃.
3. Avoid mixing the battery with other conductors. The battery is without any protection and mixed with metal objects such as keys in backpacks, pockets and other places. During the movement, the conductor contacts the positive and negative poles of the battery for a short time or a long time to form a closed circuit, which will cause a short circuit, resulting in the battery burning, "burning", leakage, etc.
4. Avoid unprotected use after battery skin is broken. Because the positive and negative electrodes of the battery are insulated by the battery skin, a short circuit will occur when the battery skin is broken or the flashlight is installed after the battery chip is completely stripped.
5. Avoid disorderly storage of multiple batteries. Batteries in large quantities are not stacked neatly, and each stack of batteries is not separated by insulating objects. Disorderly stacking will cause some batteries to form a closed loop short circuit.
6. It is prohibited to store it in a place with strong static electricity and magnetic field, otherwise it will easily damage the battery safety protection device and bring unsafe hidden dangers.
7. If the battery emits peculiar smell, heat, discoloration, deformation or any abnormality occurs during use, storage and charging, the battery shall be immediately removed from the device or charger and stopped.
8. The electrodes of discarded batteries shall be wrapped with insulating paper to prevent fire and explosion.
